Rotten chassis on 300TDI 1996
« on: September 07, 2009, 13:24:24 »
Hi

I've got a problem... my chassis is rotten at the back where somebody in the past has used it to back a boat down into the sea I think.

Its weldable but requires cutting off the old outriggers at the back to effect a decent repair as its gone rotten in hard to reach places under the outriggers.

You can get new outriggers for a series or a Defender but I'm scratching my head to find Disco/RRC ones.

Has anybody ever seen them for sale? Of offer any advice?

Cheer

Scrapyard and cut them off a scrap vehicle. I might be able to cut them off one of the vehicles I have lying around and post if needed.

Yes I got a mate (who used to be a professional welder) to weld it up and he has worked wonders with it.
