air con removal

hi all  whats the best method in removing the air con unit from a disco 300tdi  .....want the rad out and the twin fans will be used on engine rad..anyone done this or can help with the correct procedure for takin out the air con system..cheers

The 1st one is that the refrigerant should be drained by an aircon specialist!!

After that its simple enough, just unplug the electrics, take the belt off and unbolt/disconnect as you see fit!

Within the electrics you will see a wire that goes to a sensor on the top fron of the engine, leave this in place, as it is a backup for overheating! When the engine rises to a set temp (between half and 3 quarters on mine) the aircon fans kick in automatically!
