extending breathers?
« on: November 21, 2009, 20:50:44 »
having decided that changing diff oil every time the water gets over the top of the rims is an unneccesary expence, what would be a suitable means of extending the lines? initial thoughts would be either copper brake pipe with flexi connectors for a durable and sort of factory looking solution or, being cheap washer bottle clear plastic pipe?

any constructive thoughts welcome. cheers.

nylon tubing,

you can get it on Ebay for peanuts.

you can also buy kits on there for it or just get the tubing and use your existing breather /axle connections. if you wanna know what size I can't remember but when I did mine I just look at what size they where using on Ebay.

don't  bother with the breather manifold unless you got loads of £££££ to waste on it. I would just bring all the hoses into one large rubber/nylon/whatever tube you like and seal it in.

Oh yeah you can keep your original connectors as the hose will fit. Remove the old hose and push the new hose on. Its tight but you want it to be air tight anyway.

I went down my local aquatic place and got 10 metres of airline tubing for £5 with a few push fit connectors. Done the gearbox, transfer box, axles and fuel tank all at the same time.
