TD5 electric's
« on: January 01, 2010, 20:15:23 »
Hi all,
Have a couple of problems on my TD5;
1) Fuel filler cover won't open (have to flip it open with key - not doing paintwork any good) presume there's a faulty solenoid somewhere?
2) Driver door lock will not open with remote and when the car is locked the door lock 'rattles' up and down for about a second before locking?
Any ideas as to where I check first (fuses are all OK)

Cheers

2 sounds like an over centre spring is bust in the lock, so it never stays in the unlocked position causing the locking to cycle.

1 not so sure, either a faulty solenoid or it is sticking, can you hear the mechanism at all?

It may be teaching you to suck eggs etc BUT re 1) you have turned the ignition off to the 'O' position before pressing the release button?
