nissan terrano 1996

Hi, IM new to nissans so can someone tell me what i should look out for on a 96 terrano, do they have any common niggles to look out for or are they quite a safe bet,  thanks.
Dont follow me, you WILL break something !

check the rear of the sills are ok, they collect water from the front tyre flicking it down the sills, the rear of the sill is lower & reservoirs. Its an easy fix..put a hole in there & drain them... if its sluggish the small filter in the pump needs a clean, no one cleans it !!  gearbox, is it smooth, auto diff locks , if not used seize.

thats it the rest is the std issue look fors ...there a superb 4x4 !

Main rust spots are the sills, rear seat belt mountings/ rear floor under the back seat press down & if your hand go's through it need welding lol the front x-member under the rad is also prone to rotting away. On some the inner wheel arch & the join to the bulk head can rust & so can the A pillar around the hinges. engines are almost bomb proof but if it's got a noisy gearbox can whine or rattle out of gear walk way as that is a costly job

only thing i was told about them is front suspension has a tendancy to sag with age just check that think mines done that as it cut into my inner front tyres

Easy problem to solve though just 2 19mm spanners and 30mins and can be reset to std height with no expense.

got new tyres on it to find out the tow was 4mil out  :doh: prob why tyres were shot away in 6months

yes sills go alot , ive got 2 for breaking and 1 have rottern sills but ive got one with good sills on if you get stuck for anything
