Insurance - silly charges??
« on: April 11, 2005, 12:50:37 »
So I've just moved house and I called my insurers to let them know, the new  address doesn't affect the premium - woo hoo.

Then they tell me that there is a charge of £15 for changing of address???  WHaaa???

Anyone else come across somthing similar,  never in my life have I been charged just to change the address, its ridiculous..

Yep... had that before.

They say it is an administrative cost because they have to get new documents issued.

Good innit.

Used to work for an insurance broker.  The admin charge is purely the effort of phoning to get new documents and sorting them when they come in.  That's business for you.

When you think of how much per hour people are charged for other services, it isn't far different.  Saying that though, I think it is totally wrong.  Only lasted 9 months in insurance - it isn't my thing! :-s
