I joined one of these not long ago in the west mids area but as I heard it was not very sucsesfull. i think people was worid about the insurance side of things.
are there any of thease response groups that seam to be working ??

Did the West Mids group you were in try asking the National Network about insurance? It's a problem that every group has faced and dealt with so you should have been able to get some help with it.

Hi, I`ve sort of put this on the back boiler due to work and there is already a group called Civil defense scotland, who are already set-up and are on board with the police etc. They have a website if you are interested in joining

4x4 Response is National, unlike the civil defence group or any other for that matter.

If you form a local group, have a word with the national group and you will get a better insurance deal through them, along with discounted 4x4Response logo hi viz stuff.

Yes thats true, but CDS are already the main responder for all the local authorities and voluntary organisations, operate blue lights, fuel is paid etc. etc. They also do rapid rope rescue and water rescue and are therefore a very valuable resource for when the situation calls for their assistance. As i say, check out the website
