When you hit a bump like a drain cover your steering wheel bounces side to side! Interesting time controling it.

No it shouldn't, that would suggest that the steering pump is working overtime or the steering box is on its way out.

Unfortunately that's a symptom of many other faults too :roll:  By removing or replacing it you can check that it's having an effect.
