My TD5 will not return to normal height, I have pressed the suspension button it bleeps once light illuminates and flashes and nothing happends? :evil:  As you can see from the picture it looks as it is heavily loaded, all the doors have been closed when trying-I have even taken it for a long ride but to no avail.........Is it a trip down to Land Rover?

Can you hear the compressor running?  Nearside sill beneath front passenger seat.  It could be that the compressor is running, but the system is leaking, so it's not pumping anything up.

Take the cover off the valve block / compressor and check to see if anything's become disconnected.  Trace the pipes as far back as you can and also where they join the air spring.  You should be able to see if anything is broken, or if the compressor is running, hear the hiss.  You can also spray water with washing-up liquid around the springs themselves (where the bellows meets with the plastic insert) to see if you can see any leaks.  If it's not raising at all, I'd have thought a leak would have been fairly easy to find.

If the compressor *isn't* running, you either have a failed compressor, or an electrical fault to the compressor, or maybe the electronics are inhibiting the compressor because something is up elsewhere.  I'm not sure what degree of self-checking the TD5 EAS system does, but you can find out if you plug it into Testbook or Rovacomlite.

In a nutshell, check for leaks, and if there aren't any, it's a trip to the dealer.  It's OK to drive with the suspension deflated, but it will be very bumpy, and your headlights won't be able to self-level.

The bloke I work for drags trailers around 6 days a week.
Every 10-11 months something goes on it and it looks like yours. He has managed to have the work done under warranty every time.

Actually, it did cross my mind, the cheapest way to solve the problem would be to take an angle grinder to the front springs.  Chromed tailpipe and you're there.

Thank's gents............ but it is the compressor,power to the unit but no life. Think i'll rip it all out and put some springs in.........I have heard it is a common fault on all TD5's and Range Rovers.......

It's common on P38s, but they have a relatively complex EAS system.  The TD5 system is a bit more straightforward, and you've been quite unlucky to have a faulty pump.

The air intake in the pump is routed up to the rear quarter post.  I've heard of the intake tube coming adrift, meaning the pump sucks in mud - could this have happened to yours?

Personally if I were you I'd get another pump off Brookwells (I think they're about £150) and stick with the air, but springs would be a cheap and permanent solution.

You could also dismantle the pump and see if it's something curable.

It does not know what mud looks like, so no chance of that :lol:  got more chance of getting a few bugs in it than mud................but can wait to test it out though :D
