paint care
« on: March 13, 2010, 13:53:17 »
need a recomendation for a new brand of paint care. yes it is a landrover and no i will not be leaving it covered in mud and grot - that is no way to show respect.

currently using up some old meguires 3 stage but not getting the results i'm looking for in terms of finish or ease of application. this may be in part down to the age of magics paint and in part due to the age of the product, it was prpoer on the subaru but that was a lot newer and a much darker blue. magic has been manually cut back with g3 compound and is okish for oxidation but the level of streaks and water marks being left visible is not good.

not a big fan of autoglym nor turtlewax, found mer to be good as a protective coating for stored cars rather than a finish of it's own, never really used armourall but have heard some good things in the past.

so what can people recomend as a decent buy, ideally a one coat application and ideally silicon free but not too fussed if the finish is good. after all it is only a landie.

cheers chaps.

Try ice wax, its an absolute piece of p**s to use did my disco in about 20minutes. it can be used on plastics as well so you dont get all the white residue left behind.
