Mud splash guards.

Think I have the correct name  :?:

They are fitted to the inside of each wheel and as the title suggests the protect the disc's from mud  :?:

Anyway noticed today some of mine have seen better days and there ain't alot left of them. Should I replace them and has anyone got some part numbers  :?:

I would of thought there would be different part number for front and rear, oh and prices would be good

i threw them away on the racer as they hold mud in,although on my dads 110 before he fitted then to the back it would munch a set of pads in about 6 rallys(we go through the stages behind the closing car recoverying any cars) so there is a lot of slurry mud getting thrown about underneath,after fitting them the pads lasted ages,so it depends on how u use it ,

Like I said a few of them are near to falling off, well whats left so I was wondering if it was worth replacing them at all, they can't be that expensive  :?:

You also get problems with stones getting caught between them & the brake-disc, it makes horrible noises (& sounds expensive) until you manage to remove the offending items

Have a look on Paddocks site they have them listed, be surprised on some of the prices. I bought a set to fit on the front, but not had the thing apart yet, also the mounting stays on the front go as well, you will have to make new ones up, the replacements dont come with any,  also the small bolts can be a sod too

When I was doing the fronts I bought a pairs of stone guards and hammerited them before fitting them.

When I did the rear axle I looked at the guards and thought that at just over a fiver I might as well fit new ones. So I stripped them off and threw them in the bin. Went to Paddocks to pick up all of the bits and nearly had a heart attack when I got the price of the rear ones.

Quick call to the missus as as it was bin day. Luckily they hadn't been and I talked her into rescuing them :)

I don't reckon I'd bother replacing them these days. They are more of a stone trap than guard.

I have a spare rear axle with a good set on, when I can get to it will snap a couple of pics of them in situ as well
