Iceland??
« on: April 30, 2010, 23:02:15 »
Just taken advantage of the great offers available in Iceland this summer.  Can't think why, but people seem to be loathe to book, something about a volcano.

I have booked a super jeep Icelandic Land Rover for 3 days and a Vitara for 7 days.  Have hotels selcted by the travel companybut can basically go where we like between them.

Anyone got any good contacts, map info, gps routes or anything at all?

Cheers

Graham

You've got to drive the F910 and F26

Out of interest, what sort of price was the LR hire, as taking my own landy there was quite pricey.  I'd love to go back tommorow if i could afford it.

F Roads, thats a nice concept, I have done A,B,C,D and E in the UK is an F better than an E??? Thanks for the info.

Company I have booked it all through is Discover The World, google em and that will show you the sort of tthing they offer.  The super Jeep is about £300 a day.  We are going for 10 days it is just over £4000 and that includes 3 days superjeep, 7 days Vitara/Rav 4, flights, hotels (B&B) and a whale watching excursion.  Might be a bit more than a week in Spain, but I can't lay around a hotel in the sun.  They have 'tailor made' this for us, they also do packages that are a bit cheaper.  If you contact them and talk to Addy, tell her Graham recommended her.  She is Icelandic and has been very very helpful, it is a change to do business with someone who clearly enjoys her job and is enthusiatic about her homeland.

Bet the fuel and food will be expensive, everyone is saying "It's once in a lifetime" but I hope not.
