Surely nukes have a tendency to vapourise things rather than seal piddling little holes  [-X

http://www.livescience.com/technology/russia-nuke-gulf-oil-well-100512.html

Quote
Weapons labs in the former Soviet Union developed special nukes for use to help pinch off the gas wells. They believed that the force from a nuclear explosion could squeeze shut any hole within 82 to 164 feet (25 to 50 meters), depending on the explosion's power.
[/i]

so there, drill some holes around the butthole, shove some nukes in - spark em up and pinch one off, easy peasy lemon squeezy.

or difficult difficult lemon difficult...

Trust the Russians to think up something as crazy as that. Note they experimented on one of their satellite countries not on Mother Russia  :D

If they do try this then I'm pleased to be this side of the ocean and not in Louisiana  :D
