crisis of confidence
« on: July 26, 2010, 15:31:51 »
help!

i'm obviously having a mid life crisis because i am questioning the validity of the 750's in my life.  :-k

given that we now have a td5 for the farm magic is no longer needed to do any serious rufty tuffty heavy work and the occasions of farm related mud plugging are also now massivley reduced. as my mates will attest i have been out on the lanes twice this year as i work too much.

this is making me question the need for the over sized tyres and the knock on effects to the clutch and the mpg are also begging answers.

so the question is this; do i revert back to a set of 235/70r16 80%ish road biased tyres get better braking, better mpg and save my clutch or do i stick to the 750r16 i have now and put up with poorer mpg and sluggish starts in traffic for the maybe 2 or 3 times a year when i 'might' need the extra inch and a half under my diffs on what is to all intents and purposes a road car?

all views and thoughts welcome, thank you for giving me some of your time you will never get back.

Buy the other set, but keep these and fit them when required!
