« on: April 25, 2005, 18:53:30 »
I need to get the clutch changed on my V8i 1991 Discovery
Does anyone know of a cheap but trustworthy place for me to goto.
I'm based in Berkshire nr Heathrow but i dont mind traverling a bit to get it done cheaply.
Unfortunatly it's not feasable for me to do myself (i dont have the skills!)

The only person around this way is Joe Edwards based in Leighton Buzzard about 8 miles south of Milton Keynes, does a very good job for a reasonable price, give him a ring for a qoute, gotta be worth it

saw Joe when we went to the Towcester record attempt. He was going north on the M1.

Once you've seen his caravan you'll never miss it.
No one could ever pinch it :)

Phil must have a picture somewhere....

Not too far from me.
I'm just waiting for a couple of mechanic mates to get back with there quotes.
Depending on how silly their quotes are i could well be calling Challenge soon!! :?

I phoned Joe and was quoted £325 for the whole job including parts and modifieing the fork.
I also phoned Challenger 4x4 and they quoted me £350 for the same. Farnborough is over £25 nearer to me (in fuels, 2 trips, 2 cars) than Leighton Buzzard so the car is booked into Challenger 4x4 be fixed on the 13th May.
thanks for the help everyone
