Dealership service bill question......
« on: April 25, 2005, 22:10:27 »
I have been asked buy the boss what a "rotor arm" is?

They have 2 Defender 90's TD5 2004, one Discovery TD5 2004 and one Discovery TD5 2002.

All of these have just had a service buy Hartwells in Northampton. One all the bills is a charge for "Rotor arm".

Could anyone tell me what this is please?

While I'm asking
The three 2004 Land Rovers had the 12 month service where they changed the engine oil but not the engine filters   . Is this normal on the first 12 month service. :?

i suspect the rotor arm is the oil filter rotor that cleans the oil they have this set up that throws the dirt to the sides then when serviced its cleaned out and a new rotor fitted

Just asked exactly the same question for a TD5 Defender, it's the fuel filter, or part of it.

if you pop the bonet  & look infront of the turbo ther is a circular plate with 2 bolts holding it down, the rotor filter is under there, when the oil goes into there it makes it spin round v fast  & the oil goes inthrough it & any small dirt is held due to the filter & centifugal force

Sorry I meant oil, not fuel I was thinking about something else at the same time.
