Discovery rear door spring
« on: September 13, 2010, 13:06:15 »
Hi

I have been having problems with the rear door on my disco sometimes the only way to open it was to get inside and pull up the catch at the same time a as pulling the lever. Now that method has stopped working and I cannot get the door open, using the key does nothing. I am told this is due to a small spring having broken inside.

Problem : how do I replace the spring if I cant get the door open. ??????????????

Any help greatly appreciated as I am due to go to the abingdon 4x4 in a few weeks and need to get all of the camping gear on board.

Steve

Hi
Pry out the LR badge on the rear door handle and spray a lot of WD 40 through the hole onto the lock mechanism.
Hopefully that will allow you to open the door.

We will be at Abingdon with a shed full of replacement springs, unfortunatly we dont offer a fitting service :D, but there are a few pictures on our website on how to change the spring.
