Hi
Sure sounds like the intercooler is blocked.
Its an easy  job to take off and clean, use either petrol, parafin, white spirits or Mr muscle drain unblocker !

Like the wizard says, it's probably got a EGR on it still and the intercooler is bunged up with oil and carbon. Make sure it's totally flushed and dry after using solvent else the fumes may have an interesting effect when you fire it up

I would remove all your Intercooler pipes it will be more than likely when you look down the inside of one of them you will find there will be loose fitting material inside that under pressure comes down & blocks off the air way!!!!!

Good luck

thanks for the replies guys . i am going to strip the intercooler off on Friday and clean it out and ill probs check all the pipes to . is it a hard job to do ? anythink i should watch out for ?

would the intercooler being blocked and that pipe exploding cause the car to burn oil ? thers a blue smoke cloud when i start it up ? sum1 told me the valve stem seals might be gone and over nite lettings oil into the cylinders ?

i am starting to think ive bought a bad engined car

Burns oil when starting up, you know there's some in there.  The fuel will not burn very efficiently untill there is a hot-spot in the cylinder to ignite it, there will also be unburnt fuel int he cylinder form cranking and yes a bit od oil seeping past the guides.

If it clears within a minute then don't panic.

Witht he turbo pipes off, clean them all out and clean the turbo out too (I filled it with WD40 and used a toothbrush).  Clean out the engine breather that feeds oil vapour intot he airstream just ahead of the turbo.

Run it for a while then check the pipes for signs of oil contaminiation.  If the turbo inlet and vanes are messed up then the engine is breathing heavily and may need a new oil seperator or the breather rerouting (I fitted a catch tank).  If there is signs of oil downstreamof the tubo then possibly it is leaking oil and needs changing before it leads to a runaway engine.

Connect a boost gauge to the T piece on the turbo and take it for a spin up a longish hill, that will give us an idea of what boost presure you have.

I have a boost guage you could borrow for the cost of postage and return.

This may seem a bit obvious,  but with the engine at idle,   remove the top intercooler hose,  place hand over intercooler outlet and check that air is coming out,

Also check that airflow increases when you rev the engine,
