Right,
Im just fitting a wooden garden gate, its actually an old door (with a round top) from inside the farmhouse made of very solid reclaimed wood. Its been painted previously.
Being in cornwall all my house and surrounding barns and walls are white render. The gate will also be white, but Brilliant white gloss seems a bit BRIGHT for outside and that much area. I was thinking about just using some left over white exterior masonry paint I have (thinned with water a bit).
Would masonry paint be ok at all or would it just peel off (as its a bit plasticky)?
The yard is a hotch potch of white render and white stone, creosoted doors an some courrogated cement tile etc so a super smooth finish may look out of place if you know what I mean.
Otherwise I think its a satin or eggshell wood gloss.
Any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks,
