EAS.... compessor not running?
« on: August 27, 2011, 22:47:40 »
I have a problem with the EAS on My classic,  my compressor won't run? I took it off and fitted another that I had which I had solder the thermal cut out so it was bypassed. but still nothing. Next I replaced the pressure switch on the air tank still nothing. The rev counter is working, doors are all shut, pressure in the tank is down to 6bar so it should cut in. If left to go into fault mode I get the following faults:

    Compressor faulty
    Air system losing air
    Exhaust valve permanently open
    inlet valve permanently closed

The compressor will run if you put power to it, the air system has no leaks, and I'm not sure how to test the inlet and exhaust valves but I'm just in the proses of downloading the EAS unlock program to see if that will help.

Got any Idea's!

Thanks

Jonny

Apparently the compressor won't run if the EAS is in fault mode

What are you useing to test the EAS? The kit i have can test all of the system from the EAS plug.
Where in the country are you?
1. Range Rover Classic 300tdi SE Auto Softdash
2. Range Rover Classic 300tdi SE Auto Softdash, apparently very rare.

Thanks Steve, I had reset the ECU a cupple of times.

Trecfive That would great if If you are near byish! I'm in Telford Shropshire, and I visit my mother and Father in-law who are in Hinckley leicestershire, so if you are any where near these locations I'll pop over, I sell air products like Emergance air valves for EAS so can come bearing gifts!!

I curently using a EAS kicker from Black Box, but it can only read re-set faults and adjust heights.

Thanks

Jonny
