Now, I needed to replace my Warn solenoid pack (which is/was located under the bonnet, n/s of engine bay) as I'm having an Eberspacher fitted to get me through the cold winter. An extravagance I know, but it's either that or get up 45 minutes earlier every morning at 05:00 to warm the car up and scrape ice off boths sides of the windscreen.
Anyway, decided to replace it with an Albright as there's no space to put the Warn pack anywhere else. All nice and easy I thought.
So, new Albright located on side of engine bay, secured using rivnuts and cables all attached as per the numerous diagrams found on the interweb. Go to test said solenoid and I get lots of clicking but no movement of the winch . . . .
Have double checked the connections:
- Winch A is connected to the stud on top of the Albright (front left of the unit if the three spade connectors are facing you)
- Battery +ve is connected to the socket that is directly behind the three spade connectors (and there is power there, I've checked with the multimeter)
- Winch F1 and F2 are connected to the other two (shouldn't make any difference which way round, and it doesn't as I've swapped them to no avail)
So, what's gone wrong? Is the Albright duff? Or have I missed summat?
Thanks for any assistance.
