I heard the V8's had lots of head problems and even worse when fitted with LPG so I opted for the DSE diesel, BMW engine so is more than reliable. I had mine chipped to got aroud 30mpg and went like stink. Any P38 the electrics will eventually let you down
I've had to recently sell mine & brought a 300tdi Disco, this had rust issues so not mot'd so never driven it yet.
Hope this helps a little

V8s are only a problem if they are abused or neglected, of course you don't always have a way of telling that.

Easiest way to tell if a V8 has been abused you tend to get a black sludge in the rockers etc. Best thing for a V8 is regular servicing.

i had a old V8 Rangie Vogue Auto, sounded lovely, if you dont do many miles then a V8 was my prefered choice.
