MT Tyre Pressure???
« on: March 13, 2012, 17:37:39 »
There seems to be several threads on tyre pressures but non with much reference to MT's so thought I'd ask.

I've just bought some spare rims with Amazon MT's on and wondered what pressure anyone would suggest to run them on tarmac to and from places?

The good ol birthday is fast approaching at the end of the month and I know I'll be getting an onboard compressor from the inlaws so will be able to alter pressures accordingly when I'm out, but 2 are a lil soft at the moment hence the question to get them on!

Thanks,

Rus.

If they are standards size 205R16 Radial  then they will be as quoted either in the vehicle handbook or possibly on a sticker somewhere on the vehicle. As you have posted under Discovery Land-Rover internal manuals suggest.
Disco 1
28 PSI Front (Road) 17 PSI (Off Road and not above 45MPH)
38 PSI Rear (Road)  25 PSI (Off Road and not above 45MPH)
Disco 2
as above  on road no figures quoted for off road

i run 285 75 16 khumo KL71's both on and off road and keep them at 24psi for general road use, going down to around 19 for off road.
no handling problems at all.
