It's been ages....
« on: July 17, 2012, 22:35:24 »
Well, I've not been here for a while....

I still seem to have mod status.... either I'm still respected of they've forgotten me

Looks a lot quieter than it used to be. Maybe that's a good thing. One of the things that started putting me off was the bickering. Great to see some familiar names though. Glad that not everyone has given up on MC. It was such a great place.

I've still got the 90. In the process of swapping the 2.5TD to a modded 3.5 V8  In the mean time I bought a cheap runabout. A Volvo. OK, I know, but it's a V70 T5. Those in the know will now bow with respect! It's the fastest i will ever go for £500!

Sarah sold her TD4 Freelander a while back and bought an L200 double cab. I hate it with a vengeance, but it's what she wanted.

Anyway, what's been happening in my absence? Any juicy gossip?  :cheesy:

Hi Steve, some of us are still here doing our thing, the site has changed homes a few times recently but settled now we hope, lots of people haven't found their way back yet but I think that could be a good thing, those of us that are here at the moment are easy going and happy with the new site.

We didn't change any of the Moderators unless they asked to be taken off and most of the Admins are still here, we did lose a couple of them but thats another story.

My news is that after 11 years of ownership of my Disco, I have recently swapped it for a P38 Rangie.

Glad to see you back again.

Thanks guys.

Been busy at work and got back into photography after many years away. So, my time has been pretty much 100% full up. If I'm not sat on some beach at dawn or stood in the middle of a field waiting for the 'right light' than seems to never come (!), I'm at work or fixing the Land Rover..... some things never change

Not really had the 90 doing much this year or so. A handful of 4x4 Response events, but nothing too taxing. Just to prove Daisy has actually been used, here's one from a 4x4R playday......

Anyway, I'll try to drop by from time to time.

Before I even read the word photograph I was set about to say that is a cracking shot - yours ? nice one sir. the subject of landy in the rule of 3rds but the tree and sky add a lot. Rear of truck more real than real life too if you know what I mean.

Saffy.... I have to admit, the photo was taken by my son, Michael, with my camera. I was driving. He's got some talent when he thinks about it. But he's a teenager  Nikon D7000 with 80-200mm f2.8. Processed by me in LR3 and GIMP. Lens currently in for service. Might upgrade to the 70-200 f2.8  VRII, but we'll see what's needed in the service.
Michael drives Daisy when the regs allow.

Neil..... how could you????  I thought that day would never come! And there's me going from "cough, cough" to petrol V8  And my T5 new toy too!

I went from a 300Tdi "cough, cough" to 4.6 V8 on LPG, how strange that Neil (a confirmed petrolhead) went to diesel and I went to petrol.

Strange thing happen hereabouts lol

Hi Steve,

90 Still looking good, did last long in the diesel club. Can't wait to hear the V8!!

Least I'm not the only one that hasn't done much offroading this year!

Thrasher without a V8 is like a fish without water....

Hi Guys. I still pop in from time to time. as you say its much quieter, I blame Facebook. Im still running the Lightweight hybrid  I built many moons ago. It doesnt do many miles other than to and from trials as I drive an A4 Allroad as my main transport.

Mike
