I believe the back axle is used on newer puma defenders.

I fitted a P38 diff into my LSE. Some of the engine ancillaries crossed over from the soft-dash V8 but the basic engine was only visually the same.
Not sure about the newer Defenders but the diffs are on the opposite side to RRC and Disco, plus the suspension attachments are different on the P38.
Any reason for asking?

i was thinking about getting back into a bit of off roading after a few years absense
i have had a 90 and a disco both tdi and fancied a bit of luxury and pwer so i thought i might try a v8 p38
now that they are pretty cheap to buy
i wasnt thinking of any serious off roading just green lanes and pay and plays
really i just wanted to know if any parts were interchangeable as i know where i can get plenty of stuff for other landys but not so much the p38

Hubs, bearings and halfshafts are different, wheels and brakes disks too. Shockers differnet, airsprinsg different.
Look at fitting Arnott GIII airbags for extra travel/lift/articulation, they are really good.
