S/H propshaft price

The sliding joint on my rear propshaft is ... not ... sliding, that is :roll:  So, I'm looking for a secondhand replacement.

What would people expect to pay, including the UJ's and rubber doughnut?

Why not put a RR rear propshaft in,  and get rid of the rotoflexcoupling thing :) , Don't know you have lifted your Disco or not  but i did 2"and it failed the MOT because the rubber was cracked :oops:

£15 from Phil Egely for a RR one.  Not a big fan of the Rotaflex myself.

Which model RR prop is the best to use?
I have a 300 tdi with a 2" lift and I'm on my second rotoflex in about 6 months...
Is the diff flange a simple job to replace or will i need any additional bits, I've read somewhere that the 4 bolt flange needs a spacer to fit into the 3 bolt flange diff.

The later props from the EFi have, I think, got bigger UJs in so that would be the one to go for.  In their defence the earlier ones might be a bit more waterproof, I don't know.

Which axles have you got, can you remove the flange from the pinion shaft or is the flange forged on?  If the former simply nick the flange from a goosed diff before it gets weighed in and fit this to your car along with a new oil seal.  If the later I don't know, unless you can swap the whole diff for an earlier one.  Anyone know?

I remember changing the diff pinion oil seal on my last RR, the flange came off OK, I didnt know that some were not removable...Im not sure if the flange is forged onto the pinion shaft on my disco or not, I  haven't had a good look yet.
What about the length of the prop itself...are they all the same?

Well unless you're driving a Range Rover LSE then they are all 100 inch wheelbase and pretty much the same chassis, so chances are it's the same part.  I don't know about later cars other than the previous threads on changing the diff pinion oil seal and it costing the Earth on a 300 series for some bizar reason.  If the flange comes off the front then it's no harder than the job you have already done I'd have thought.  I've got an older RRC prop spare but I think you'll want the later EFi style one, I only have a bent one of those (Banana, not hooky).
