my 2.4vm diesel is getting a real pain to start.i have changed the glow plugs ,changed the lift pump and injectors to no avail ,pre heater working fine,any suggestions on what to try next.

See if you can get hold of a compression tester and check that.

Ditto that, especially if it's worse when the engine is warm, not hot, rather than hot or cold.

A quick check on this would be run the engine and take the oil filler cap off, see if there is any pressure when you put your hand over the hole
