hi got a nigly prob with clutch on 200 tdi ,sometimes judders on take up & occasionaly seems to stick half way & then releases with a jump thought maybee release arm about to go.keep putting the job off but today noticed transfer box loosing oil beetween itself & gearbox ,dont know weather theres a seal between the two or a gasket.any advice would be grateful ,(do ya rekon it would be as easy to split transfer box off gearbox then do clutch or all in 1 go)it looks pretty a heavy unit as one .thanks bilge rat

Check the cylinders first.. could be something as daft as a sticking slave cylinder.

For the leak, check that the gearbox breather pipes and fittings are clear... there are 2.

There is a seal on the output of the gearbox and the input to the transfer box.   The complete assembly is heavy, and it doesn't add too much to the job to split the boxes if you are under there.
