Power steering fluid
« on: May 12, 2005, 21:50:41 »
So, I've got this squeeky engine still, I checked the PAS fluid level, it was just below th lower mark on the dipstick, so I'm going to top it up anyway but I don't expect it to solve the problem....

I haven't got the haynes with me now, but I checked earlier and it said to use something like

Draysomething IId Auto Tranny Fluid, I went in to Halfords and he said it had been superceded by Draysomething III, will that stuff be OK do you think??

dexron 2 is ok for powersteering boxs & lt77 & some r38o gearboxs,if you have a knotchy R380 if you change it for dexron 3 it makes the change a bit smoother,This mainly happens on disco 2s so far ive seen anyway

Agree with this stuff, I had fluid running out of my steering box seal, when I used this stuff, it reduced it down to a dribble until i could change the box

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40
