14 Bolts (I think)
4 on the rear
1 either side in the middle
1 either side on the bulkhead
6 across the screen
It's a 2 man lift really... A Series roof is quite heavy and it's a big lump of metal to be moving on your own.

Yeah, go for it.... I used to take mine off all the time... only used 8 bolts on mine ;-)
You'll be amazed how quiet the vehicle is with no roof.
Drive it in the rain... that's a giggle... as long as you keep moving you are OK... the looks you get are superb :-)

the roof is liftable by one person, but its bloody awkward
i removed my roof once on my own, but i'd rather have another pair of hands, or even 2 pairs

Dave,
You can always fit a set of static line belts for open use, or even a harness

Its the old style belt, used before inertia, you have to put them on and adjust the belt to fit, it can mount on the bottom mounting like your does on the bottom of the seat box area.
And the other end behind the corner of the tub, somewhere strong and suitable
The belt then comes up over your shoulder and clips in the normal place, if you are lucky it will even fit the clip you already have in there
