Can anyone tell me the immobiliser system that was the factory fit on the Discovery around 94/95 - my insurer needs to know.

I think it's LRSS, cany anyone confirm? None of the documentation that I have tells me and I have the original handbook and even the oder sheet I think.

Does the remote have one or two buttons on it? That's an indicator as to which model. www.remotekey.co.uk/discovery.htm should help.

My fob has one button and there's a CATS sticker on teh windscreen but isn't that just the radio?

That web site implies it's CATS which might help but I found a thatcham style web site that implied LRSS.

One of my clients is an insurance engineer I'll ask him I think.

Mine is a 93 and has just one button. The insurance wanted written confirmation as they reckoned the 93 wasn't fitted with LRSS. It is a Cat 1 alarm if that's what you're looking for.

My insurer couldn't work out if it was LRSS or whatever and really wanted to know if it was Cat 1 - so you're saying that your one button alarm was Cat 1 so mine should be at least that then?

Well the immobiliser left me stuck in a car park for an hour recently so I've got one! I'll tell them it's CAT1 - good price from Barcalycard which surprised me.

Thanks for that _ had seen the Thatcham list but hadn't quite understood it. I think mine is a downgraded Cat 1. let's see what the insurer makes of it!
