Hi Guys...Just had a e.mail from Eblag saying thankyou for changing you e.mail account details  :?  :? I have'nt :?  :?  then tried to log in some *&^%$£ has changed my account password  :x  :x  :x
so i have informed Ebay i have had my account hijacked ...I'am selling something great

Have you had any emails from ebay that you had to type your details into in the reply??

I've had loads, if they ask for you to re-enter your details, or either log in from an email outside of ebay itself, DONT!!!!

I always close down the page and go to ebay itself as if they want to contact you they will from there.
Also if they contact you they ALWAYS mail it to you with your REAL name at the heading and NOT your ebay name!!

IGNORE any emails from ebay that dont otherwise your account, paypal account and your details could be nicked!!

if you ever get mail allegedly from ebay, and you don't think it is right, forward it to spoof@ebay.com and they will verify it. Many people out their trying to get your details by sending mails about account changes and wanting you to re fill in forms.

Someone hijacked my mate and he had 10 sony laptops, MP3 players etc.

I doubt he would of minded so much if it had been tractors.

I had the same problem a few months ago,a 42"plasma tv, i had to change my password on ebay my email account and paypal ,about six times in a week because every time i did it was hijacked again.

Check your personal details on a daily basis to check your email has not changed

they will get bored eventually

abusive emails to the hijacker make you feel great :D

If you are not running a spybot finder on your personal computer
Then it could be your computer that is giving away your details to whoever is scanning it?
I use "Sygate Peronal Firewall" Which alerts me to Any Port Scans!
I also scan my system weekly with "Spybot Search and Destroy"
And "Adaware"

Also Turf out your temporary internet files after either online banking or any visits to paypal etc

Never click a link in an email.

Whilst it looks like it would take you to ebay or paypal it will infact take you to a clever password collecting site.
Its always safer to read the email and hover over any links, in the status bar or tooltip popup it should give you the real URL where it will take you.

For example take this one, it looks like it will take you to ebay but infact it takes you to the mudclub homepage.  Hover over and check the status line to see what I mean:

http://www.ebay.co.uk

This is the same type of scams that happen with online banking.  Just never trust a link in any email.  Also type the URL or use one of your bookmarks in your browser.

I got one of those phishing mails sitting in my inbox on one of my email addresses?

I have already reported it to Ebay!

But i am inquisitive as to where it came from? as the whole page comes up as the link? not the link within it? :?
