anyone know what happened at the end of the day ,racing got stopped and the ambulance was called onto the end of the track .then after a another race the police closed the track because it had become "a crime scene" ..very strange  :!:

There's nothing showing on the BBC news pages for today, with 'Santa Pod' as a search.

So it can't have been too serious??

latest i heard from a reliable source,was that a spectator had died in his car cos it went up in flames.... :!:

That is so sad! We weren't too far from the top end either.
We left just after they stopped racing as we needed to get the kids home @ a reasonable time.
We wern't aware anything had happened until today, the place was so packed full of people. Had this happened at practically any other event @ Santa Pod, the area in question would have been deserted.

sorry mate we had a fatel accident there a spectator got hit by a peace of parachute from the funny car , a bolt went thro his hart he died on way to hospital tragic.........

such a tragic end to what was a brilliant day,been a long time since i visited the pod and went with a few drag racing "virgins"who were amazed at what they were seeing........a real tragic end .. our deepest sympathy to the victims family ... :(  :(
