if it's the person I think it is, then we're aware of the situation and are keeping a close eye on it.

but, the advise of "careful" is always apt and welcome,  it's probably best to search the forum before you commit and just check that the person you're buying from is an "active" member, and by that I mean posts reasonably frequently and not just in the for sale section.

I appreciate this discriminates against some people who don't have a lot to say and are having a garage clearout, but sadly there's not much more we can do without becoming ebay.

Hmm, My reply seems to have gone missing, or it never posted.

I've had the same and I'm still owed money by someone for goods not delivered.  Its like anything though there will always be the odd one that ruins it for all. I've done a lot of exchanges through the club and only had the one problem.

You want to PM me and we'll see about getting them radios sorted if possible, Give me model numbers etc as they might not need anything.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I would wish that post like this would either name names or not put in locations, I'm in the west country, I also sell 4x4 bits, I don't sell CBs but it's surprising the amount of people in the country that can put 2 + 2 together and make any result they want

Mudlark, I wouldn't worry about it. Most people know exactly who the presumed guilty party is.

I would take a wander around the "For sale" section, if you get my drift :D

We are somewhat limited at present within the confines of what phpbb will allow, specifically with respect to any automated scheme,  however there are plans afoot which will address the matter.

For now, caution is the best advice I can offer.

The 'For Sale' and 'Wanted' areas of the forum should not be used for any form of commercial operation.

Can't help but think that one person is using this site in this way with so many ADs. Suprised it hasn't been stopped before now with this quote from the sticky at the top of the For Sale section.

The matter is being addressed and the observant amongst you will notice the first step in the process of addressing the issue.

At the moment we're awaiting a response from the member, who may still be perfectly legitimate and merely being misunderstood or misrepresented (you never know)

We shall continue to keep a close eye on the situation

Hummm, I recently purchased an amateur handie from someone down West, seems to work OK, a little slow in delivery, but it was sent 2nd class...However the pushy e-mail, want to buy some more of my stuff,  follow-up wasn't welcome.
